Ok, whenever I have the chance, I spend some fifteen minutes either on our sofa, or on bed, relaxing, my eyes closed.

Always, always, after lunch. This is implied whenever we talk about “la siesta”. (Note: Spanish lunch is not exactly a light meal but two dishes and dessert!)

I’d maybe have a short sleep, and it would be a light but restful sleep at the same time. Oh, well, being honest, I should say I sometimes took a 60 minutes or even longer “siesta” in the past. (I feel guilty, and I feel shame! LOL!)

The bad news about taking a long “siesta”

  1. You’d probably wake up in a very angry mood(or at least that’s what used to happen to me in the past!)
  2. You’d also be wasting a lot of time that you could have used to write, read, exercise…
  3. Probably, you will have a hard time when trying to sleep at night.

So, notice that if you want to take advantage of a “siesta”, the first point to take into account is its length. It must be a short one. But wait, what do we consider “short” taking about “siestas”? From 15 to 30 minutes. Never…
